Green tea antioxidant, called catechins- may selectively inhibit the growth of
cancer.
There is an antioxidant known as EGCG which demonstrates impressive activity against many kinds of cancer
whilst also appearing to protect the heart and arteries from
oxidative stress.
Scientists have now discovered that chemicals in the tea also shut down a key molecule which can play a
significant role in the development of cancer.

How Much Green Tea Antioxidant Can You Drink?
A lot of conflicting suggestions (as usual) here. Some gurus say 10 cups a day and others say 2 to 3 cups daily. I
have researched this thoroughly and the general opinion is you should aim for 2 to 3 cups a day.
But how do you brew the perfect cup of green tea?
Easy, well sort of! There are lots of variations on this but here is a general guide. Some important points.
Don't overbrew and follow manufacturers instructions for each variety.
Use one tea bag, or 3-4 grams of tea per cup. Fill and boil kettle with fresh cold water. Let boiled kettle stand for 2-3 minutes.
Pour heated water over the tea bag or tea and leave to brew for up to 3 minutes. If you are using a tea bag then
take it out. Let your cuppa stand and cool for 3 more minutes.
Sip very slowly and enjoy.
