Coconut Oil Benefits..A True Superfood With Amazing Health Properties
Coconut Oil Benefits
Most people, including myself, have always believed coconut oil to be unhealthy. The reason for this is because the oil in coconuts contain the most saturated fat of all edible oils.
Well, that 'unhealthy' stigma that coconut-oil has been tagged with...is totally untrue.
Coconut oil is very rich in medium-chain fatty acids. These are very good for your health. In fact it has some health benefits that you simply cannot get from any other foods. For example, the most outstanding one is lauric acid. This nutrient is only found in mother's milk..and nowhere else!
In simple terms Coconut Oil is comprised of medium-chain fatty acids, also referred to as MCFAs, but also called medium-chain triglycerides. It's these MCFAs that actually do the job of protecting against heart disease, and research is currently trying to find a way to use as a treatment to eventually cure it altogether.
If you actually compare the MCFAs of coconut oil, which in fact is the richest source you can get, with vegetable or seed oils, there is no competition. You see, the latter are comprised of long chain fatty acids (LCFAs), also long-chain triglycerides..and they are actually not heart-healthy at all! There you go, I bet that surprised you.
So, what else is good about Coconut-oil?
Lower Body Fat Levels
Less Likely To Form Blood Clots
Higher Levels of Antioxidants throughout the body
What Other Ways Is Coconut Oil Healthy?
It has antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial properties which means that it is beneficial for the immune system. People that suffer from candida, thrush or yeast infections can find great relief by taking coconut oil. Also yukky things like parasites, fungi and bacteria can be eradicated.
Also, it is believed that coconut oil benefits help protect against the germs that cause ulcers, influenza and herpes.

It has been drilled into us for years and years for the belief that by not eating fat, we will lose weight and it will help our hearts. And here's the thing...we were also told that saturated fat is like the devil, the one that will do us most harm. Well guess what? Coconut oil is actually 90% saturated fat. Unbelievable!
It's a fact that saturated fats are good for you, much better than the polyunsaturated fats that feature a lot in the Western diets currently. And coconut oil is the most healthiest saturated fat you can get.
Want strong healthy, shiny hair? Yes, you've guessed it..coconut oil. Coconut Water..Natures Sports Drink Helps Against Exhaustion
What have Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow got in common? They both drink coconut water after their workouts to speed up the recovery process.
It is fast becoming very popular amongst sports enthusiasts, even to the point of calling it 'nature's sports drink'. And this for very good reason.
It is believed to be the 'complete package' of recovery drinks as it contains everything you need. Such as fluid for rehydration, carbohydrates for energy and body salts (electrolydes)to replace what is lost through sweat.
Here's the best bit...it is only 46 calories per serving and fat-free.
The other benefits of coconut water are that it will offset your hunger pangs. Thanks to the antioxidants it will stabilize blood sugar levels, lower cholesterol and blood pressure as well.
Look out for pure coconut water at your local supermarket or grocery store. I buy my mine at Holland and Barrett, currently a 330ml bottle is £1.75
