Wu Long Tea..A Potent Free Radical Fighter With Weight Loss Properties



Wu long tea. Everyone's talking about it. Even Oprah Winfrey is talking about it.



It has been made famous recently by Oprah Winfrey. Her weight loss and gain has been known to be a sort of roller coaster ride. Well Oprah swears by wu-long tea.

There is a whole lot of information out there on Wulong tea...but keeping strictly to the theme of this website we will cover the antioxidant, along with the anti-aging bits, and touch ever so slightly on wu long or oolong tea weight loss too.

Over the last 10 years literally hundreds of studies have been carried out on wu long tea. A lot of the studies were made public around 2003.

What happened?

Demand for wu long skyrocketed. People from all around the world who had never been aware of these amazing health benefits have been enjoying this refreshing and fragrant tea.



Ok..Polyphenols, they are a natural antioxidant found in Wu-Long tea. In fact these biological compounds (polyphenols) are powerful antioxidants. What does that mean to you? Well some of the 'nasty' signs of ageing such as wrinkled and rough skin, dark spots on the skin and loss of memory have been reported to diminish with regular consumption of wu-long tea.

Catechin...This is the primary polyphenol found in wu-long tea, in fact almost up to 40% of the tea's weight composition.

EGCG, stands for Epigallocatechin gallete and is one of the most abundant Polyphenols in wu-long tea. It's about 25-100 times stronger than vitamins C or E.

Catechin along with other polyphenols actually make up much of the tea's weight composition. So lots of free radical fighters helping to reverse the ageing effects caused by environmental and other elements. Good news for those of us who want to stay young, healthy and can't afford the exorbitant prices of a celebrity style facelift!

It is worth noting two other powerful antioxidants unique to wu long tea.

Theaflavin and Thearubigin. Prizes for correct pronounciation. Why are they unique? Well it's all to do with occuring as a result of the unique oxidization process performed specifically on loose leaf woo long tea.
