Health Benefit Of Grapes...A Sweet Tasty Fruit Bursting With Antioxidants

grapes health benefit, grapes, grape seed, grape skin

What are the health benefit of grapes?

Not Just Your Average Snack....Reach for the health benefit of grapes when hunger strikes.

Grapes are just about the best snack you can have. Not only are they easy to use but they are packed full of nutrients. And we are talking proper nutrients.

For starters....the nutrients found in grapes have shown promise as preventative measures for a number of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and age-associated diseases like Alzheimer’s.

Scientists have measured the health benefit of grapes and found that they contain the vitamins A, B and C, as well as thirteen minerals essential to human life. You will also find vitamin B6 and folate in these wonderful fruits of the vine.

Hold on...I haven't finished...

Minerals like...

  • Potassium
  • Calcium
  • Phosphorus
  • Magnesium
  • Iron
  • Selenium
  • Trace amounts of copper
  • Manganese
  • Zinc
....are also present in grapes. What’s more, you’ll also get a splashing of fibre and protein too.

And of course grapes contain flavonoids Thats why they get their vibrant colours.

What are flavonoids? Well.....simply put, flavonoids are very powerful antioxidants.. Antioxidants (as you should all know by now) work to prevent and counteract the damage caused by free radicals. When it comes to antioxidants, flavonoids are top of the proverbial tree.

Concord Grape Concentrate

These contain anthocyanins. What are anthocyanins you ask? Well they are a class of flavonoids that give intense colour to many fruits and vegetables. In addition, concord grapes contain resveratrol, which demonstrates anti-inflammatory properties.

Red Grape Skin Extract

This contains resveratrol, as I have just explained above, it is a powerful antioxidant that exhibits anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, red grapes contain anthocyanins, which offer an array of health-promoting benefits such as antioxidant protection and protection for the heart too.

To give an example of this...The French have a diet high in saturated fats, compared to the Western world, but one of the lowest levels of coronary heart disease. Why is this?

It's called The French Paradox.

And now preliminary studies indicate that it can inhibit the growth of human breast cancer cells too.

Furthermore, red grape skin extract has been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation—a risk factor for coronary artery disease because it can lead to the formation of blood clots.

Plus.....research indicates that combining grape skin extract and grape seed extract provides greater antiplatelet effects than either substance alone.

Red Grape Seed Extract

Now red grape seed extract is a powerful antioxidant that protects the body from premature ageing, disease and decay. Grape seeds contain a class of naturally occurring compounds known as proanthocyanidins.

Proanth...what?

Don't worry about how to pronounce it...just read what it can do for you!

It has been shown in scientific studies to have antioxidant power that is 20 times greater than vitamin E and 50 times greater than vitamin C and more powerful than beta carotene. It has been shown to remain in the body for up to three full days.

Other studies have shown that grape seed proanthocyanidins can...
  • Help protect the body from sun damage
  • Enhance vision
  • Improve flexibility in joints
  • Improve flexibility in arteries and body tissues such as the heart
  • Improve blood circulation by strengthening capillaries, veins and arteries

Plus.....research indicates that combining grape skin extract and grape seed extract provides greater antiplatelet effects than either substance alone.

A recent animal research has shown that grape seed extract inhibits human prostate growth in mice.

Grapes, a truly tasty, healthy, nutritious fruit.
