Cloudberry Known As The Gold Of The Swamps Are Rich In Antioxidants

cloudberry, cloudberry antioxidant

Cloudberry, here we have an unusual one.

It is a relative of the more familiar blackberry bramble and the raspberry.

This little berry thrives in remote places such as swamps.

Cloud berry can be found in places like Finland, the northern and arctic parts of America and Canada, Scandinavia and sometimes in the Scottish Highlands and Welsh mountains, though it is more common in the north.

What makes this berry special?

Well remember it is a Nordic berry, so it grows in the day long day-light hours (of summer), hence it's rich colour, aroma, minerals and vitamins. Also the berries contain fibre...helping to stabalize blood sugar levels and lower cholesterol levels. On the antioxidant theme, berries contain flavonoids, phenolic compounds believed to promote good health.

Cloud-berry are held in high esteem and are often referred to as the gold of the swamps.

Why?

Well it is juicy and nutritious for starters, but also, it is brimming with vitamins A and vitamin C.

In fact it has between three and four times more vitamin C than an orange.

Cloud berry can be added to desserts to create a subtlety...but also they can make a fine liqueur.
